TIM DIPASQUA : Tim Di Pasqua, a native of San Francisco, is a singer/songwriter who has twice been awarded the Backstage Bistro Award — once for Outstanding Singer/Instrumentalist and once for Outstanding Special Performance. Tim has also received 9 nominations from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), including four as Singer/Instrumentalist, one for Recording of the year, and one, with Tom Andersen, for Song of the Year.
As a solo artist, Tim has performed in all of New York’s major clubs and halls: Joeʼs Pub, Birdland, The Bitter End, The Russian Tea Room, Town Hall, The Metropolitan Room, Carolineʼs, Carnegie Hall, Eighty-Eights, The Triad, The Village Gate, The Duplex, Donʼt Tell Mamaʼs, Tavern on the Green, The Laurie Beechman Theatre and Sardiʼs.
Tim started out his career performing for packed houses five nights a week at the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco. Timʼs most recent successes include performing at Carnegie Hall with Michael Feinstein in his “Now and Then” series celebrating Sammy Cahn, and new composers. He also serves regularly as both guest vocalist and accompanist for Oscar and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz in various concert appearances. In addition to writing his own songs, Tim has collaborated with many other award-winning songwriters. He recently collaborated on a new song called “Falling from Grace” with Tony nominee, Nan Knighton (of “The Scarlet Pimpernel” fame) and is very well-known for his collaborations with award winning singer/songwriter Tom Andersen. Tim co-wrote many of the songs featured on Mr. Andersenʼs two CDʼs, including the hit song song “Every Night I Sleep with an Angel,” as well as serving as musical director and arranger for both discs. His songs have been performed by some of New Yorkʼs finest, including Philip Officer, Brandon Cutrell and Alix Korey and his songs “Big Hairy Man” and “Maybe You Didnʼt Hear Me” have achieved wide success due largely in part to the live performances and recordings by Scott Coulter. Tim lent his voice, piano playing and arrangement to the recording of a new song by lyricist Carol Hall (“The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”) and composer Bob Burke called “War on Christmas Day,” for Carolʼs compilation cd.
Timʼs most at home with his songwriting for his own voice and for the musical stage, for which he has completed the music and lyrics for his musical SYNCHRONICITY on Easter Records. With a book written by playwright Michael Levesque, the show features the great talents of Alix Korey and Trent Armand Kendall. Tim has three other cds in his catalog including MONSTER UNDER THESE CONDITIONS his solo debut recording, and PURPOSE OF LOVE – A TIM DI PASQUA SONGBOOK Volumes ONE and TWO. This recording was inspired by his BISTRO-winning concert of the same name featuring some of the best vocalists from the Pop world and the Broadway stage including Stephen Schwartz, Brian Lane Green, Ann Marie, Capathia Jenkins, and Heather Mac Rae. Tim is one of the founding members of THIRD EYE THEATRE CO.
