TOM ANDERSEN: Tom Andersen is one of New York’s finest pop-cabaret singer-songwriters. He has played Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall and the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, where his solo concert was broadcast live on the Internet. The romantic tenor also has headlined at Tavern on the Green, Maxim’s, the Russian Tea Room and the Algonquin, and shared the stage with Liza Minnelli, Tony Bennett, Michael Feinstein and Betty Buckley, who says “Tom’s a great singer who can sing anything!”

Stephen Holden of the New York Times has raved about Andersen’s “dreamy, hyperromantic crooning … in a delicate tenor that soars into exquisite high notes.” And Eric Myers of Time Out New York calls him “simply the finest male vocalist in New York.” For his singing, songwriting and recording, Andersen is the winningest performer in his field, having received five MAC Awards (from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs), five Backstage Bistro Awards and two Nightlife Awards. His most recent Nightlife Award was for “Southern Comfort,” a country trio show with Scott Coulter and Tim Di Pasqua, and Larry Gatlin presented them with the prize at Town Hall.

Andersen has released three acclaimed CDs: “Far Away Places,” “The Journey” and “Who Knows,” and their selections run the gamut from acoustic pop to country to showtunes to swing. Larry Flick of Billboard says, “Andersen has been gathering kudos in New York, and the time has come for a national breakthrough. His vocal talent is matched by a flair for crafting memorable melodies and words!” As an ASCAP songwriter, his original works, such as the AIDS-themed “Yard Sale,” have been recorded and performed around the world by first-rate Broadway and cabaret singers, including David Campbell, John Davidson and Sean McDermott.

Nationally, Andersen has appeared on CNBC’s America’s Talking Channel on “Break a Leg.” In New York, he made his Off-Broadway debut in the acclaimed revue “Cabariety” at the York Theatre, and starred for over three years in San Francisco’s long-running hit “Beach Blanket Babylon.” For more info:  www.tomandersen.com.
